In philosophy of mind, qualia are defined as instances of subjective, conscious experience.
The artists within this multidisciplinary exhibition have been brought together to exemplify their individual methods of approaching the concept of animism, as a tool to reclaim one’s personal connection to land, explored through the genealogies of myth and spirituality.

In response to 'Qualia,' Vladimir Florentin explores the intricate relationship between urban development, animism and a location's intrinsic essence. Vladimir emphasizes the spirit within concrete and steel structures, deeply intertwined with the history, culture, and people, prompting viewers to reflect on the profound impact of industrialization on communities and showcasing their resilience amid urban transformations. Rooted in urban animism, his exploration values a holistic approach to urban development, recognizing the spiritual essence within the land. Rocks, symbolic arrangements, and urban totems inspired by construction sites embody this perspective, highlighting resilience, history, and cultural significance.
Through "Qualia," the project harmonizes the industrial with the ethereal, emphasizing the enduring spirit of both past and present within the urban landscape.
Integrating urban animism elements in urban development symbolizes resilience, history, and cultural richness, fostering a deeper connection between communities and their evolving surroundings.
